The Presidents' Council Foundation

 

The Presidents' Council Foundation was established in 2000 as a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization. Although The Presidents' Council, LLC and The Presidents' Council Foundation are separate entities, both are devoted to economic development.

 

The Presidents' Council Foundation continues to fulfill its mission of: Providing research and educational programming by developing relationships and resources, in support of economic growth of African-American businesses in Northeast Ohio, and business education of African-American youth, all in collaboration with The Presidents' Council.

 

With the launch of an unprecedented supplier diversity initiative, The Presidents' Council Foundation is well poised to capture future business growth opportunities for African American companies regionally, and beyond.

The Presidents’ Council Foundation Emerging Entrepreneurs Program, which began in 2001, assists African-American entrepreneurs whose companies enjoy high growth potential to move way beyond the emerging phases and become vibrant, growing businesses.  The Program takes selected participants through a rigorous 10-month business development curriculum and gives them the tools, access to resources, and networks that can advance their businesses.  The goals of the program is to enhance economic growth in Northeast Ohio by strengthening the business success of participating companies and by addressing the unique challenges faced by African-American entrepreneurs.

 

Baldwin-Wallace College is the Program's education partner and continues to enhance the curriculum.

Leadership, Academic Preparedness and Career Preparedness

 

The Presidents’ Council Foundation PC Scholars Program, which began in 2008, focuses on improving the lives of select Cleveland Metropolitan School District students through Leadership- focusing on communication and teamwork, Academic Preparedness- focusing on writing, test taking and listening skills, and Career Preparedness- focusing on entrepreneurialism, experience and exploration.

 

Classes are held at Cuyahoga Community College with sessions facilitated by business and community leaders as  well as Emerging Entrepreneurs.
